GWEILO BEER PACKAGE REDESIGNING
My Message, Communication Approach, and Concept:
I aim to infuse the packaging with more elements of Hong Kong culture, giving it a fresh, modern look that conveys a sense of high quality. Currently, the only connections to Hong Kong are a few logos on the cans, like the iconic taxi and the Hong Kong flower. My vision is to use linear art to highlight the unique characteristics of the city while maintaining a simple, elegant design that doesn’t overwhelm the viewer.
The meaning/ concept:
The essence of Gweilo Beer is all about fun and a laid-back vibe, playfully nodding to the experience of being a foreigner in Hong Kong. I wanted to keep it straightforward by exaggerating the quintessential "foreigner" look, featuring a distinctive beard. To symbolize the vibrant, bustling nature of Hong Kong, I created a backdrop filled with crowds, capturing the city’s lively atmosphere.
