Cat’s Servant

“Cat’s Servant” was a concept that depicts servants (human cat owners) working for cats. It is a common joke among cat lovers that cats view their human owners as servants that work for them. Because of this, many cats don’t come when you call for them, do tricks, or interact on our terms. Many cats have strong personalities - they do what they want depending on their mood and what they feel like, rather than what their owners want. This tea formula was designed for pets and humans to reduce cats’ stress and anxiety.

Speaking from personal experience, many cat owners enjoy buying treats, toys, and other items for their cats. This beverage design was focused on cat lovers that were willing to spend money on buying their cats specialty drinks. There are many cat treats that come in the form of food, but not many that come in the form of a drink, which would be a fun and interesting new item to bring to the specialty cat treat market. Also, within Chinese culture, there is a common saying that describes people that want to please other people as being servants that kneel down and pour tea for an emperor. I was inspired by this popular saying and wanted to visualize humans pouring the drink for the cat on the drink’s packaging.

Cats symbolism: healing, protection and well being. People say cats have 7 lives: In ancient Egypt, cats were sacred animals that were worshipped as gods. Ancient Egyptians believed that cats were divine creatures with psychic or supernatural powers. The idea that they could have multiple lives fit right in with their view of cats.
